About Aquos
AquOS is an experimental aquatic intelligence project exploring how agentic AI and accessible hardware can manage a living aquatic ecosystem. Its prototype uses Grok as the decision-making core, alongside a Raspberry Pi controller and sensor array, to monitor water conditions and autonomously adjust equipment. In a compact aquarium housing one koi, the system is designed to oversee temperature, pH, oxygen, turbidity, and other water-quality indicators while controlling lighting, heating, aeration, filtration, and feeding. The project’s mission is to maintain a stable nitrogen cycle and respond to potential ammonia or nitrite problems without routine human intervention.
AquOS is presented as an open-source proof of concept, built from off-the-shelf components including a Raspberry Pi, probes, a camera, relays, a pump, and a servo-operated feeder. Its live dashboard and analytics tools display environmental readings and system activity. The planned commercial direction includes retrofit modules for aquaculture farms using recirculating systems, as well as a plug-and-play smart aquarium controller for hobbyists.
