About AQYI
Aqyi is the African Queer Youth Initiative, a dynamic network of queer youth activists dedicated to mobilizing, supporting, and amplifying the voice of LGBTQI+ youth in Africa. Our goal is to build visibility and strategic networks that foster and empower the LGBTQI+ youth movement across the continent. At Aqyi, we believe in giving you a voice.
As a motivated, dedicated, and resourceful organization, we work together to provide young LGBTQI+ Africans with the platform and support they need to lead change. Through organizing, advocating, and campaigning, we aim to empower individuals and create lasting social impact. Our programs include Opportunity Point, where we provide resources and guides to help our community thrive.
We also offer partnership opportunities, internships, and the chance to become a volunteer activist. Our members have spoken passionately about the impact of joining Aqyi, citing personal growth, leadership development, and the ability to advocate for marginalized communities.
