Arabic Lit Hub

Arabic Lit Hub is an editorial library dedicated to classic and contemporary Arabic literature, bringing together books and writers from across the Arab world. Its catalog indexes around 600 Arabic-language editions across 520 authors, including works translated into Arabic, with book metadata sourced from Open Library and Wikidata. Readers can explore novels, poetry collections, short stories, literary criticism, and writing on Arabic culture and thought.

The site organizes its collection through genre hubs, literary eras, author profiles, and curated reading lists. Its guides span traditions such as Egyptian fiction, Palestinian literature, Iraqi writing, Maghrebi literature, Gulf poetry, classical verse, and Arab women’s writing. Seven literary-era tours trace Arabic letters from pre-Islamic and early Islamic works through the Abbasid and Andalusian periods, the Nahda, and modern and contemporary literature.

Arabic Lit Hub also publishes editorial features and reading recommendations designed to help readers discover both foundational and emerging voices. Its coverage ranges from Naguib Mahfouz, Mahmoud Darwish, and Tayeb Salih to Jokha Alharthi and Sinan Antoon, offering an accessible starting point for exploring the breadth and history of Arabic literature.
