About Aragonites
Aragonites B. V. is a Netherlands-based company within the van Houten group, focused on processing quality aragonite sand and calcium reactor media for the aquarium trade.
Established in 2020, the business builds on the group’s experience supplying sand and media through its sister company, D. van Houten Import-Export B. V.
Its products include natural aragonite sand and calcium reactor media in various sizes and grain grades, as well as real oolitic sand from the Bahamas. Aragonites describes its aragonite products as naturally occurring, biogenic material containing 99. 8% calcium carbonate.
Its EU-sourced sand and reactor media are selected for chemical purity and consistent sizing, and are suitable for marine, reef and cichlid aquariums, plenum systems and refugiums. The material is low in nitrate, phosphate and silica, helping to reduce the risk of diatom blooms. Products are packed in reusable PET jars rather than multi-layer plastic bags.
The company also offers OEM packaging and custom mixtures, with wholesale supply options for retailers and distributors
