Ara: History Untold

Ara: History Untold is a historical grand strategy game developed by Oxide Games and published by Xbox Game Studios Publishing. Players build a nation from any point in human history and guide its people through exploration, diplomacy, technological change, economic development, and war. Featuring leaders inspired by influential historical figures, the game offers varied national playstyles, strategic traits, and no fixed path to victory.

Its expansive living world spans diverse landscapes, cultures, and eras, with citizens responding to changing conditions. Players establish improvements and architectural triumphs, advance through twelve technology eras, and manage a national crafting economy that turns resources and labor into goods, amenities, and military equipment. A non-linear technology tree and simultaneous turn resolution make planning and anticipating rivals central to play, while conflicts unfold across land, sea, and air.

Ara also supports cloud-backed multiplayer, including synchronous and asynchronous play with options for tailoring matches. Available on Steam, the Windows Store, and PC Game Pass, the game is supported by updates, developer news, a FAQ, and an online game guide.
