About Center for Arakan Studies
The Center for Arakan Studies (CAS) is an independent and non-partisan research institution founded in December 2021. Comprised of a team of young professionals, including journalists, political analysts, and researchers, CAS strives to promote understanding and awareness of human rights, politics, economics, and social dynamics in Arakan/Rakhine. Through rigorous research and reports, CAS aims to address policy gaps and advocate for democratic policy changes and common solutions.
CAS conducts in-depth research to analyze the dynamic political landscape, conflicts, and humanitarian crises in Arakan, both within Myanmar and beyond. By delivering comprehensive reports and contextual policy analysis, CAS aims to shed light on the changing socio-political issues and promote peace and unity among diverse ethnic and religious groups.
Additionally, CAS focuses on studying foreign investments and the crisis in Arakan, with the goal of encouraging development and inclusiveness for all societal groups. As an independent and research-oriented group, CAS remains dedicated to advancing knowledge and fostering a harmonious society.
