ARAR

The Associazione Ravennate Astrofili Rheyta (A.R.A.R.) is a nonprofit astronomy association based at the Planetarium of Ravenna, Italy. Its mission is to promote astronomy, science and education through public activities, practical observing and learning resources. The association holds regular meetings and works with the planetarium to offer events for different ages and levels of experience.

A.R.A.R.’s programme includes planetarium presentations, lectures and guided observations of the Sun, Moon, planets, constellations and other celestial objects. Its Binocular Classroom sessions introduce participants to the night sky using binoculars provided for the activity and guidance from an astronomy enthusiast. The association also develops educational proposals for schools and families, and takes part in collaborative projects, courses, webinars and public outreach initiatives with other astronomy groups.

Online, A.R.A.R. shares astronomy articles, photographs, videos, publications and a newsletter, alongside observing resources such as a monthly sky guide and live camera imagery. The association supports research and public engagement through its observatory and other projects, and welcomes visitors to explore astronomy through accessible events and educational materials.
