Imisol, the injectable formulation from Mauget, is also restricted. In Connecticut, all neonicotinoids require a license to purchase, with discussions underway to potentially ban them altogether.

Despite this, when used correctly, neonics can be valuable tools for arborists. To protect bees, it's crucial to avoid treating trees with neonicotinoids before they finish flowering, particularly ash trees pollinated by air. By waiting until after the male trees stop releasing pollen, you not only safeguard bees but also ensure better treatment efficacy.
