Arcat is a Paris-based nonprofit association founded in 1985 and part of Groupe SOS. A pioneer in the fight against HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis, it works to improve access to healthcare and rights for people living with chronic, progressive conditions and those facing hardship. Its support focuses particularly on people who may encounter overlapping barriers, including people in exile, LGBTI+ communities and sex workers.
Arcat offers free, flexible, individualised assistance through a multidisciplinary team of professionals and volunteers. Its services include health mediation, social support, supported living assistance and help with professional integration. The association also makes health information accessible through publications and resources, and delivers training for professionals in health, social care and community organisations.
Alongside this work, Arcat advocates for people’s rights and promotes community-based approaches to a fairer health system. It also mobilises public support through Les Créateurs ont du Cœur, a charitable designers’ sale held twice a year. Donations and volunteering help sustain its work across Paris and the Île-de-France region
