ArcForged is a brand founded by Jaime Silva and Emanuel Miglio, two passionate developers who began their journey in the Sonic the Hedgehog community. Drawing from their experience in creating fangames, they established ArcForged in April 2019. Their first game demo, "Origin of Storms," received immensely positive feedback, solidifying their dedication to their craft.
Inspired by their success, they embarked on a new project – a traditional 2D side-scrolling fighting fangame featuring the beloved Sonic the Hedgehog characters. This game, named "Sonic Smackdown," gained global popularity, garnering over 180,000 downloads and capturing the attention of prominent figures in the fighting game community. Learning from their experience with Sonic Smackdown, the ArcForged team then developed a new fighting game framework that incorporated rollback online netcode.
