Archeoclub Messina

Archeoclub Messina is the Messina branch of Archeoclub d’Italia, an association dedicated to promoting local culture, history, and artistic heritage. Founded in 1995 by Professor Vito Noto, it works to encourage appreciation of the city and its cultural assets among residents and visitors. Its activities follow three main paths: raising cultural awareness through themed conference programmes, helping people discover the surrounding area through excursions and trips led by experienced guides, and supporting the care of heritage through contributions to monuments and the restoration of statues, paintings, and archaeological objects.

The association’s programme includes conferences, cultural events, and journeys to destinations in Italy and abroad, with past trips listed to places such as Palermo, Veneto, Turin, Morocco, and Poland. Its projects also include work connected with restored church canvases, the Montalto paintings, a mosaic, and a monument to Antonello da Messina. Through these initiatives, Archeoclub Messina combines education, direct exploration, and practical support for the preservation of cultural heritage.
