The Gruppo Archeologico Milanese (GAM) is a volunteer association based in Milan, active for more than forty years in promoting knowledge of and safeguarding archaeological, monumental, historical, artistic and cultural heritage. In 2013, it received the Civic Merit certificate in recognition of its contribution.
GAM brings together people interested in exploring the past and the heritage of Milan and beyond. Its program includes lectures and conferences, guided cultural visits, archaeological excavations and field surveys, and study trips to historically significant destinations. Activities range from discoveries in local neighbourhoods and historic sites to broader subjects in Mediterranean history and archaeology.
The association shares research and learning resources through publications, including Archeologia Uomo Territorio, themed booklets and monographs, and maintains a library. Courses and other educational events offer further opportunities to explore topics such as the history and archaeology of wine.
