The United State Archive of the Chelyabinsk Region is a public institution dedicated to preserving and sharing the documentary history of the Southern Urals. Marking a century of safeguarding history, the archive holds records that support research into the region’s people, organizations, and past. Its website helps visitors explore archival collections through guides, finding aids, fonds lists, databases, digitized materials, and an electronic archive. Specialized resources include a geographically referenced database of parish registers, administrative-territorial directories, and collections on subjects such as wartime evacuation, repression, awards, and the Second World War.

The archive serves individuals and organizations through reference requests, reading-room appointments, document ordering, and scanning services. It also provides educational programs, archival guidance for schools and genealogists, publications, exhibitions, and online projects. Organizations can find information about transferring records, applicable procedures, and service fees. Visitors can check request status, search databases, and access practical information about archive services. Through its collections and public programs, the institution encourages researchers, educators, and community members to discover and better understand the history of the Chelyabinsk region.
