Arc of Acadiana is a nonprofit organization serving Acadiana and Bossier City, Louisiana, for more than 70 years. It supports adults with developmental disabilities, older adults, veterans, and surviving spouses through services that foster care, connection, opportunity, and greater independence. Its community group homes offer supportive residential settings where adults with developmental disabilities can build life skills and pursue personal growth with staff assistance.
In-home care provides personalized support to adults with disabilities and older people in their homes, while specialized in-home programs serve veterans who are injured, disabled, or elderly. Day programs bring adults with disabilities together for creative and recreational activities that encourage social connection and independence. Arc of Acadiana also operates resale thrift stores offering affordable clothing, books, baby items, and household goods; donations and purchases help support meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The organization welcomes community involvement through membership, fundraising events, and donations. It also offers a range of career opportunities, including direct support and program roles, and provides benefits for eligible full-time employees
