ARCSAR is the Arctic Security and Emergency Preparedness Network that addresses the challenges and threats arising from increased commercial activity in the Arctic and North-Atlantic region. With a focus on security and safety, ARCSAR aims to cope with the impacts of traffic through the northern passages, cruise traffic, and offshore oil and gas activity. The network conducts research to identify practical innovative solutions and knowledge, with 85 different challenges identified across seven thematic areas.

They have created the Innovation Arena (IA), a social idea management platform, where SAR & OSR practitioners, SMEs, academia, indigenous people, and local communities can contribute their ideas to improve search and rescue and oil spill response capabilities in the Arctic and North Atlantic. The ARCSAR network also offers opportunities for collaboration, networking, and knowledge sharing among various stakeholders, including authorities, academia, governments, indigenous communities, and more. By joining the ARCSAR network, organizations can broaden their reach and engage in the innovation-driven efforts to enhance security and preparedness in the Arctic region
