About Arctic Yearbook
The Arctic Yearbook is a leading platform for critical analysis of the Arctic region, produced by the Northern Research Forum in collaboration with the University of the Arctic's Thematic Network on Geopolitics and Security. This international and interdisciplinary double-blind peer-reviewed journal aims to inform a diverse audience—including students, scholars, policy-makers, and business professionals—about the evolving dynamics of Arctic politics, governance, and security.
Published annually, the Arctic Yearbook features a rich collection of scholarly papers, commentaries, and briefing notes, which are accessible online to facilitate wide distribution. It operates on an open-access model, encouraging readers to download, distribute, and cite materials, while ensuring proper credit is given. Importantly, the publication does not charge author fees nor permit commercial use without consent. Under the editorial guidance of experts from various institutions, including the University of Lapland and the Macdonald Laurier Institute, the Arctic Yearbook contributes significantly to the discourse surrounding pressing Arctic issues and emerging trends.
