Área 3 is an association dedicated to the study of group, psychosocial and institutional issues, with a focus on Pichonian social psychology. Its work brings together reflection, education, clinical practice, intervention and research, and explores how people and subjectivity are shaped through social relationships and group life.

The association offers in-person training in Madrid, including programmes in group clinical methodology based on the Operative Group model, at introductory, advanced and applied levels. Its courses also cover operative group psychotherapy, social psychology and feminism in clinical practice, and responses to critical situations in educational settings. Some programmes are open to participants without prior training, while others require previous study.

Área 3 publishes Revista Área 3: Cuaderno de Temas Grupales e Institucionales, featuring work on group psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, institutions, mental health and community practice. Its website also provides a journal archive, books, research, news and information about activities and working groups. Through its courses, publications and events, the association supports learning and exchange around group-based and psychosocial approaches.
