AREA51 SURF

Area 51 Surf is a sports school focused on helping people enjoy and develop their skills in the sea, wind and action sports. Based on the coast at Marina di Carrara, the organisation has more than 15 years of experience teaching sailing and surfing to both disabled and non-disabled participants. Its activities welcome beginners as well as people seeking to improve their technique or pursue new challenges.

The school offers surf courses for all ages, at recreational and competitive levels, along with skateboarding and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) lessons for beginners and those refining their skills. Sailing courses combine practical and theoretical instruction, covering foundational knowledge and more advanced techniques. Area 51 Surf also provides inclusive sailing programmes designed to help people with different disabilities participate safely and enjoyably. Through the “Surfando e Veleggiando Oltre le Barriere” project, supported by Fondazione Marmi Carrara Onlus, the school promotes access to surfing and sailing beyond physical barriers. Its range of courses brings together sport, learning and inclusive participation.
