Arena Pegnitz

Arena Pegnitz is an initiative supported by Förderverein Eissport für Pegnitz, a local association working to advance the vision of a new multifunctional arena for the city. Its goal is to create a welcoming sports and community hub for Pegnitz and the wider North Bavarian region. The proposed arena is planned to include approximately 1,500 spectator seats and a second ice surface, supporting ice hockey, ice sports, local clubs and more than 50 regional hobby teams.

The association also envisions facilities for activities such as climbing, yoga, basketball, soccer and fitness training. Outside the ice season, from March to August, the venue could host cultural events and entertainment for people of all generations, alongside a restaurant, café and bar. The project places particular emphasis on youth, amateur and recreational sport, while seeking to strengthen Pegnitz’s quality of life and bring people together.
