Ares Magazine is a publication built around the idea that every issue can offer both a complete gaming experience and engaging new writing. Its central feature is a stand-alone, playable board game, accompanied by a collection of original fiction. Science fiction is the magazine’s primary focus, while selected issues may also explore pulp adventure, fantasy, and alternative history. The publication extends beyond games and stories with articles and interviews connected to geek culture and science-related topics, giving readers a mix of entertainment and informative features.

The Ares website presents six issues, numbered Ares 01 through Ares 06, and invites visitors to select a cover for a preview. It also provides introductory information about the magazine and links to related sections, including projects, updates, and the team. Ares is featured alongside the OSS Home Store, with contact information for One Small Step LLC provided on the site. For readers interested in imaginative fiction, tabletop gaming, and related cultural and scientific subjects, Ares brings these interests together in a single magazine.
