arete is an internet portal that aims to contribute to the critical thinking repertoire of our country by discussing the political-social pressure in our streets and squares and the current public space practices. We want to draw attention to the importance of communication between media and political activism and protest against the desertification and the risk of desertification faced by the intellectual sphere. We believe that political and social discussions, disciplines, and fields, which are treated as unrelated, actually converge due to similar authoritarian pressures they face.

Therefore, on our portal, we aim to create agendas on various topics such as politics, art, philosophy, economics, and sports. We present our works to the public with the intention of supporting the culture of debate on widely used social media platforms. First and foremost, arete represents a habit of objection.

At this point, we aim to highlight our ideals in all local and international platforms we are involved in, and consider them as both a consciousness and a political principle, framing our team partnership with freedom, equality, and solidarity. When determining arete's name and slogan, we considered the possibility of critically defining this concept in a new contemporaneity for the changing forms of dialogue of our time. Indeed, for us, history cannot be reduced to quantity or quality alone.

However, we believe that if we approach these two concepts with methods that nourish each other, we can build bridges between the past and the future. We share the works we publish on our portal for quotation and various collaborations in accordance with universal press and academic ethics.
