Academic Space Initiative Switzerland (ARIS) brings together students from Swiss universities to turn their interest in space exploration into practical engineering and research experience. The student-led organization develops rockets, satellites, and exploration vehicles while supporting members’ personal growth and working with partners. Its projects span a range of aerospace disciplines.
ASTERIA is developing a bi-liquid propulsion rocket, with the goal of reaching 9 km and competing at EuRoC 2026. NAUTILUS is building an unmanned underwater glider to collect data for polar research and help researchers study the effects of climate change. SAGE is creating a satellite platform for experiments in biology, computing, and communications, including research into how microgravity affects human aging.
ARIS also runs a yearly competition rocket and other space-related research initiatives. With more than 100 active members, the organization offers students opportunities to collaborate, apply academic knowledge, and contribute to ambitious projects. ARIS shares updates through its blog, introduces its teams and projects online, and invites students to join
