Arizona Midwives

Arizona Midwives is an information and networking resource for certified nurse midwives and licensed midwives in Arizona. Founded by members of Blossom Birth and Wellness Center in Phoenix, the organization aims to support the state’s midwife community through education, resources, training, and connections. Its website introduces the history of midwifery, explains the two types of midwives legally able to assist with childbirth in Arizona, and helps visitors find a midwife.

It also provides information about the midwifery model of care, which emphasizes personalized, low-intervention pregnancy and birth services, with access to referrals when a mother’s condition calls for additional technical care. The site describes midwives as healthcare professionals who may provide gynecological examinations, contraceptive counseling, prescriptions, labor and delivery care, well-woman services, and postpartum care. Arizona Midwives serves as a central home for learning about these professionals and connecting with the community, while highlighting the role midwives can play in supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and ongoing care
