Arkade

Arkade is an open, programmable extension of Bitcoin, developed as an open protocol by Ark Labs. Its toolkit helps developers build payment experiences and financial products using Bitcoin transactions, without launching another blockchain or requiring a native token, federation, or separate consensus system. The TypeScript SDK supports wallets, payments, assets, and programmable contracts, enabling applications to define policies such as approvals, spending limits, settlement terms, and recovery paths.

With Arkade, products can let users pay, exchange and hold assets while retaining control of their funds. Arkade Intents provides a quote-first market interface for payments and asset exchange, with providers supplying pricing, execution and liquidity. The developer preview includes Lightning invoice payments and Arkade asset exchange for testing, and Arkade complements rather than replaces Lightning. Developers can connect to an Arkade Operator or server and follow maintained examples for payments, assets, contracts and server integrations. Arkade also offers documentation, a blog, developer resources and community events, including its Builder Lab.
