About Arkime
Arkime is an open-source brand that offers a comprehensive packet capturing, indexing, and database system. If you're tired of using slow tools to analyze and search through your packets, let Arkime do the heavy lifting for you! Formerly known as Moloch, Arkime is designed for large-scale deployments and provides great visibility to augment your current security infrastructure. It's important to note that Arkime is not meant to replace Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), but rather to provide additional visibility.
The brand ensures security by using HTTPS with digest passwords or an authentication-providing web server proxy. All PCAPs are stored on the installed Arkime sensors, accessible only through the user-friendly web interface or API. The system also supports encrypting PCAP files at rest.
With Arkime's scalability, you can deploy it across multiple clustered systems, allowing your network to handle multiple gigabits per second of traffic. The brand also provides a web application for browsing, searching, analyzing, and exporting packets in standard PCAP format. With exposed APIs, you can easily download PCAP data and JSON-formatted session data.
