ARK Rewilding Nederland

ARK Rewilding Nederland is a Dutch nature-development organisation founded in 1989 and a pioneer of rewilding. It works to create more extensive, connected and naturally functioning landscapes, giving natural processes such as grazing, predation, water movement and ecological cycles greater scope. Through land acquisition, restoration and collaboration with local communities, partners and landowners, ARK helps strengthen existing nature areas and develop new ones across the Netherlands.

Its projects aim to support biodiversity and healthier ecosystems while contributing to wider public needs, including climate resilience, water safety, water retention, carbon storage, cooling, clean water and clean air. ARK’s work also creates opportunities for people to experience nature, for recreation and for local economic activity. The organisation shares knowledge through educational resources, field lessons, publications and a rewilding network, and provides information about species, natural processes and its regional programmes. People and organisations can support its work through donations, planned giving, lending to the ARK Rewilding Fund or partnership.
