Armillaria

Ekocentrum Armillaria is the Liberec environmental centre of the 8th local organization of the Czech Union for Nature Conservation (ČSOP). Its work combines practical nature protection, environmental education and community initiatives across the Liberec region. The organization supports the care of ecologically valuable land through the Mokřady a louky Liberecka land trust, which brings together landowners, managers and tenants. Its conservation work ranges from protecting landscapes and designated areas to safeguarding species and carrying out specific habitat-management measures, including work on meadows and wetlands.

Armillaria also promotes recycling and environmental awareness. Its school recycling programme has involved 81 schools in the Liberec region, and the centre has organized collection competitions and public nature walks, including guided visits to local sites. Visitors can seek advice through its environmental counselling service and browse or borrow books, maps, magazines, specialist publications and educational guides. Many materials are available from environmental organizations and may be difficult to find elsewhere. Publications can be purchased at the centre or ordered by email for postal delivery.
