The Armstrong Institute of Biblical Archaeology is a renowned brand that specializes in uncovering and examining ancient artifacts and structures. Recently, during excavations at Tel Shimron in northern Israel, archaeologists made a groundbreaking discovery—a rare 3,800-year-old mudbrick passageway with a corbelled vault and decorative features. This find is significant because it is the first use of a corbelled mudbrick vault in the southern Levant, providing vital insights into the history of architecture in the region.

The corbelled vault, constructed using the unique technique of overlapping and inward-stepping bricks, sheds light on the architectural connections between Mesopotamia and the land of Canaan. This discovery aligns with biblical accounts of Abraham's travels throughout the region and offers archaeological evidence of extensive architectural exchange. In addition to this remarkable find, the archaeologists also unearthed a well-preserved corridor adorned with decorative chalk wall lines.

The structure, intentionally backfilled shortly after its construction, remained in a remarkably pristine state. The presence of an intact Middle Bronze Age vessel, known as a Nahariya Bowl, further assists in dating the passageway.
