AroundFreedom Surf School is a surf school based in Machico, on Madeira’s east coast, offering coaching for visitors of all experience levels. With more than 12 years of experience, its coaches provide small-group instruction and personalized guidance to help students learn safely and build confidence. Lessons cover surf fundamentals, ocean awareness, water safety, and techniques suited to each surfer’s ability, with at least 1.5 hours in the water and feedback after each session.

Offerings include two-hour group lessons, discounted multi-lesson packages, private coaching, and advanced lessons. The school also runs guided surf tours to different spots around Madeira and a five-day advanced course combining water practice, land training, technique development, and personalized feedback. Surfboards, wetsuits, and insurance are included in lessons, and instruction is available in Portuguese, English, French, and German. Sessions meet at the Machico school, with transfers from Funchal available for an additional daily fee. Participants must be over eight and able to swim or feel comfortable in the sea.
