About ARPC
ARPC is an Australian brand that specializes in providing sustainable and effective reinsurance for terrorism and cyclone events. Established in 2003, ARPC is a public financial corporation and Treasury portfolio agency that aims to protect Australian communities from the financial impact of these risks. Under the Terrorism and Cyclone Insurance Act 2003 (TCI Act), ARPC operates two reinsurance pools: the Terrorism Pool and the Cyclone Pool.
The Terrorism Pool was established in response to the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks and provides reinsurance coverage for terrorism-related damages. On the other hand, the Cyclone Pool, which started operating from July 1, 2022, offers reinsurance for cyclones and associated flood damage. ARPC works closely with insurers and follows legislative functions and ministerial directions to ensure the smooth operation of these reinsurance pools.
They also provide valuable information and resources to consumers, including FAQs, fact sheets, news updates, and statistics. With a commitment to protecting Australian communities, ARPC plays a vital role in mitigating the financial risks of terrorism and cyclone events through their sustainable reinsurance solutions
