About Arran Heritage Museum
The Isle of Arran Heritage Museum is a volunteer-run museum in Rosaburn, just north of Brodick on the Scottish island of Arran. Founded in 1976 and opened to the public in 1979, it brings together historic farm and workshop buildings, including a farmhouse, croft, smiddy, bothy and stable. Its collections and exhibits explore the island’s social history, archaeology and geology, offering visitors of all ages an engaging view of Arran’s past.
Hands-on displays welcome children, while an optional English-language audio tour provides another way to discover the exhibits. The museum also supports research and family-history interests through its archives and genealogy resources. Visitors can enjoy the gardens and riverside picnic area, stop at Café Rosaburn for light meals and snacks, or browse the gift shop for Arran books, gifts, sweets and ice cream.
Seasonal attractions include special events, exhibitions, talks and demonstrations by local spinners and weavers. With historic surroundings and activities for families, learners and visitors interested in local heritage, the museum offers a welcoming introduction to island life
