Arribas Wine Company is a Portuguese wine producer founded in 2017, based in Bemposta, Mogadouro, in the Arribas do Douro region of Trás-os-Montes. The company focuses on restoring and bringing attention to old vineyards and traditional local grape varieties, including varieties at risk of disappearing. Many of these historic vineyards are planted as mixed field blends, reflecting the region’s distinctive wine heritage.
Its approach is guided by sustainable viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking. Fermentation is spontaneous, and the wines are made without additions or techniques intended to mask the character of their vineyard origins. The result is a range that includes red, white and palhete wines, with freshness and regional identity at the forefront. Featured offerings include Belfo and Quilómetro, as well as Manicómio Palhete, made in partnership with Jose Beneitez of El Hato y El Gabarato. Arribas Wine Company also offers winery visits, an online shop and a journal sharing stories about its vineyards, grape varieties and harvests.
