About Arruda
Founded in Lisbon in 1986, Miguel Arruda Antiques & Design is a family-run gallery and antiques business devoted to curating, preserving and sharing objects with a history. Its collection brings together antique and contemporary works, creating connections between different periods and styles. The gallery specialises in furniture and paintings from the 17th to 19th centuries, 17th- and 18th-century Chinese export porcelain from the East India Company, and religious art from the same periods. It also presents furniture, design objects and art from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The catalogue includes tables, chairs, storage furniture, mirrors, paintings and tapestries, porcelain and silver, sculpture, lighting, rugs and distinctive individual pieces. Examples range from historic European furniture and silverware to modern design, including works by Charles and Ray Eames and a chair produced by Cassina after a Le Corbusier design.
