Art is Good is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting arts education, public performances, and literary awareness. Guided by the belief that good art has intrinsic value beyond its immediate economic or practical impact, the organization develops one principal program at a time to connect people with creative work and ideas.
Its current focus is BookSunday, an initiative encouraging people to give books to friends and family on the second Sunday of March. The campaign aims to put more books into more hands and create more readers, with a goal of reaching one million BookSunday books by 2030. Supporters can participate by sharing books, subscribing to the free newsletter, or making a tax-deductible donation.
Art is Good’s past programs include Grove Theater Center, which presented theater across Orange County and Burbank, and the GTC New Play Initiative, which supported new works through readings, staged readings, and full productions. The organization also operated the Moss Hart & Kitty Carlisle Hart New Play Initiative, a bicoastal development program with Los Angeles and New York theater homes.
