Artaxis. org is an evolving independent network of contemporary artists and their work, specializing in ceramics and sculpture. Since its founding in 2005, Artaxis has grown to become a global platform, hosting over 900 artists from more than 50 countries.

Its primary mission is to engage the ceramics community through promotional, educational, and networking programs, all while celebrating diverse artistic practices and serving as a resource of aesthetic values. Managed entirely by volunteers, Artaxis uses an anonymous jury process to maintain a high standard of work. Prospective candidates are evaluated by seven randomly selected members of the network, ensuring a broad and diversified representation of contemporary art practice.

Students and educators find Artaxis to be an invaluable resource, with over 700 artist statements and curriculum vitas available for reference. The website welcomes artists working in any medium to apply and seeks to expand its interdisciplinary scope in the future. Funding for Artaxis comes from various sources, including proceeds from the Artaxis Shop, donations, Patreon contributions, and application fees.
