About Art Canada Institute
Art Canada Institute is a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to making Canadian art accessible to everyone. Founded in 2013 to address the lack of a national online resource about Canada’s art and artists, it connects audiences with the people, places, stories, and ideas that shape the country’s visual culture. Its expert-authored, paywall-free digital content is created with contributions from leading art historians, curators, and visual culture experts.
The Institute offers an online library of more than 80 art books in English and French, alongside print editions, digital exhibitions, art news, videos, and a weekly newsletter. Its educational services include teacher resource guides, a student art challenge, and a teacher newsletter, supporting students and educators across Canada. The organization also provides fellowship opportunities and hosts events, helping share knowledge and encourage engagement with Canadian art. Its resources are accessed by audiences in more than 110 countries, and its programs have served over 70,000 students and teachers.
