Art Center Caravel is a contemporary art gallery, craft store, and creative hub based in Funchal’s historic Old Town on Madeira Island, Portugal. Established in 2015, it supports local and Portuguese artists and makers while connecting them with international audiences. The gallery presents rotating exhibitions across several floors of a restored historic building, showcasing paintings, sculpture, multimedia installations, and other contemporary work. Its curated collections include original art and ceramics, with pieces selected by art curators and accompanied by official certificates of authenticity; online purchases are available with worldwide delivery.

Since 2017, the craft store has featured work by around 30 artists and makers, including ceramics, illustration, textiles, woodwork, natural-paper creations, and mixed-media design. The selection brings Portuguese craft traditions together with contemporary forms and materials. Through ARThubMadeira, run with ARTE.M, Art Center Caravel also provides co-working spaces, exhibitions, mentorship, residencies, workshops, and cultural programs for emerging creatives. Its activities foster collaboration and offer artists resources and hands-on opportunities to develop their practice.
