Haras de Ginestoux is a farm and equine breeding business in Les Salces, in France’s Aubrac Regional Natural Park, at an altitude of 1,100 metres. Its activities bring together Ardennais draft horse breeding, a herd of Angora goats, equine reproduction services and horse boarding. Visitors can book guided farm tours to discover the horses and the farm’s work; visits vary with the seasons and are available by appointment.
The breeding centre offers artificial insemination for mares using transported chilled or frozen semen, pregnancy monitoring and, where arranged, insemination at the owner’s home. Mares may also stay in individual paddocks during the breeding season. Horse boarding is offered in fields, paddocks, boxes or shared stabling, depending on the season and conditions, with daily supervision and optional feed.
Through Art de Lait, the farm sells cosmetics made with mare’s milk, including natural soaps, through its farm shop and online store. Mohair de l’Aubrac features products made from mohair produced by its own Angora goats.
