Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, artdey is dedicated to supporting the historically underrepresented market of African contemporary art by connecting African artists to global collectors. Serving as a platform for discovery and promotion, artdey discovers, nurtures, and promotes emerging independent African artists, enabling them to connect with art enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.

Ensuring equitable compensation for artists, 70% of artdey's revenue goes directly to the artists. Since its inception, artdey has successfully onboarded and managed 50 artists from Nigeria and Ghana. These artists showcase extensive thematic and stylistic diversity, making artdey a go-to destination for collectors exploring the burgeoning African art scene.

artdey has gained international recognition as a hotspot for emerging artists and a marketplace for art shoppers, including interior and film set decorators.
