Arthrogryposis

Interessengemeinschaft Arthrogryposis e.V. (IGA) is a community supporting people affected by arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC), their families, and others seeking information about the condition. AMC is a congenital condition in which multiple joints are stiff or limited in movement; it can have many underlying causes and affects each person differently. Recognizing the questions and challenges families may face, IGA offers information, practical guidance, and personal support drawn from members’ experience and a network of contacts.

The association connects people with regional representatives and maintains relationships with clinics, doctors, and therapists. Its website provides resources about AMC, including information on the condition, therapy, and frequently asked questions, as well as downloadable publications and “courage books.” IGA also shares news and relevant guidance, organizes family and adult gatherings, and helps raise awareness of AMC. Through collective advocacy and cooperation with organizations, public bodies, institutions, and medical professionals, it seeks to strengthen understanding and support. Membership offers people affected by AMC and their families a way to join this positive, supportive community.
