Artisan Home Design provides residential design services for people planning a new home or updating an existing one. Based in Roanoke, Virginia, the business is led by owner and designer Jeff Altom, a former builder who brings 24 years of experience and more than 150 completed designs to his work. Its approach centers on listening to clients, understanding their goals and needs, and developing practical home plans that balance style, function, and budget.

For new construction, Artisan guides clients from initial concepts through 3D illustrations and detailed construction plans, with opportunities for input and regular reviews throughout the process. Remodeling services help homeowners rethink layouts and make their homes work better, with projects including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and additions. The business also features stock plans and a gallery of design inspiration. Artisan’s stated aim is to help families live better in their homes by combining creativity, experience, and building science, while providing support through the design process.
