Artisklas Haarlem

Artisklas Haarlem is the smallest official zoo in the Netherlands, located in Haarlem-Noord. This unique brand offers a wide range of products and services centered around the exploration and education of animals. With a history dating back to 1964, Artisklas started in a small box to teach children about wildlife.

In 1977, it became an official foundation and received its zoo license in 2003. Run entirely by volunteers, Artisklas takes pride in its commitment to conservation and education. The zoo features four charming cottages and an outdoor area with various animal habitats.

Visitors can observe reptiles, invertebrates, and a diverse range of other creatures. One cottage houses a diorama showcasing eight different biotopes with corresponding taxidermied animals, as well as collections of skulls, shells, and more. The other cottages serve as a feeding kitchen, ticket office, office space, and a treatment area.
