Artist Commons is an online artist development program for early- and mid-career visual artists seeking thoughtful feedback, clearer direction, and a supportive community. Its year-long program is organized into four ten-week quarters, combining small-group cohorts, mentorship, educational events, and opportunities to learn from working artists.

Participants meet regularly with a mentor and peers for feedback sessions, portfolio reviews, discussion groups, and one-on-one guidance. Weekly lectures, interviews, and panels explore the business of art, craft and creativity, art history and philosophy, and audience development. Visiting artists contribute presentations, process talks, live demonstrations, and candid question-and-answer sessions. The program welcomes a wide range of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, digital art, and interdisciplinary practices; the 2026–2027 program also includes a focus on tech-based art.

Artist Commons supports both professional learning and sustained studio practice through accountability and community discussion spaces. Cohorts generally include about ten artists and a mentor. The year-long program costs $2,600 plus applicable tax, with a deposit and monthly installments; limited need-based partial scholarships are available.
