The Artist Parent Index is a searchable database documenting artists whose work explores the experience of parenting and the broader themes of reproduction and child-rearing. It brings together artist profiles, artworks, projects, publications, organizations, and other related records, making the Index a resource for discovering creative perspectives on family, care, and parenthood. Visitors can search by keyword, Boolean terms, or exact match, filter by record type, browse entries and categories, or explore by location.

The project welcomes artists addressing a wide range of subjects, including economic structures, medical care, political systems, environmental conditions, education, housing, sexuality, race, and gender. Its scope includes varied reproductive choices and experiences, such as choosing not to have children, adoption, and infertility, as well as the realities of raising children. An ongoing open call invites artists working with these topics to submit their work.

Through its searchable collection and open submissions, the Index connects creative practices and resources that consider how reproduction and parenting shape individual lives and society
