Artists at Risk Connection (ARC) is a pioneering project of PEN America, dedicated to upholding the fundamental right to artistic freedom of expression globally. Established in 2017, ARC's mission is to empower artists and cultural professionals to live and create without fear. Operating at the nexus of human rights and the arts, ARC serves individuals from over 63 countries, providing vital resources such as emergency funds, legal aid, and temporary relocation programs.
With a robust network of over 70 partners, ARC has supported over 500 artists in need, amplifying their stories and advocating for artistic freedom. ARC welcomes artists from all creative disciplines, including visual artists, musicians, writers, and performers, fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
