About Art Law Foundation
The Art Law Foundation (ALF), established in Geneva since 1991, is a prominent organization dedicated to promoting and coordinating research in the field of art law. With a focus on art law, cultural property law, and copyright law, the ALF organizes regular conferences and seminars on topical issues in these areas. In addition, the foundation supports training and exchanges between its members and professionals in the art market, museum community, and other fields related to art and cultural heritage.
ALF members have exclusive access to guided tours of exhibitions, galleries, scientific institutes, and cultural institutions. The foundation also works closely with the Art-Law Centre at the University of Geneva, supporting research and teaching activities. With over 500 active members and subscribers, including legal and academic professionals, museums, auction houses, galleries, banks, and insurances, the ALF plays a vital role in the art law community.
The foundation publishes the Art Law Magazine, providing legal news and expert analyses, and also offers a book series, Studies in Art Law. The ALF is funded by grants, donations, and the support of its members and their contributions
