The Arts Work Fund (AWF) is a funding collaborative that supports small and mid-sized arts organizations in Chicago and Cook County. Since 2006, it has helped organizations strengthen their management and operations so they can focus more fully on their artistic missions. Through its updated Arts Capacity Grants, AWF provides funding for projects that address organizational capacity needs, build resilience, advance strategy, and deepen community engagement.
Grants of up to $40,000 are available to eligible arts organizations in the region. The fund also offers information sessions to explain grant eligibility and the application process, and shares program updates through its website and newsletter. Its work is centered on helping local arts organizations become stronger and more sustainable, while supporting the people and communities they serve.
AWF brings together funding and practical guidance to help arts groups develop the capacity needed to carry out their work and pursue their goals
