About ARX Fit
ARX builds computer-controlled strength equipment. Founded in Austin, Texas in 2011, ARX invented Adaptive Resistance — a motorized system that reads the force a person produces and matches it in real time, rep by rep, in both the lifting and the lowering phase.
That last part is the difference. A barbell can only load you at your weakest point in a movement, and it barely loads the lowering phase at all. ARX applies maximal resistance at every angle, in both directions, and measures every rep. There is no weight to select, no load to guess, and nothing to drop.
The result is a complete full-body workout in about 15 minutes, on one machine, in under 40 square feet.
An independent study commissioned by the American Council on Exercise and conducted at Western Colorado University compared ARX to traditional weight training over 12 weeks. Against weights, participants using ARX saw 2.5x the fat loss, 2x the muscle gain, 3.5x the improvement in VO2 max and 90% greater strength gains, in 72% less training time.
ARX makes two machines, the Alpha and the Omni, for commercial and home use. More than 1,000 are in service worldwide, across 100+ studios, gyms and clinics and in private homes.
Fifteen years on, the technology is still patented and still exclusive to ARX.
