About Advertising Standards Authority
The ASA – Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland is an independent self-regulatory body that promotes the highest standards of marketing communications. As the official industry watchdog, the ASA ensures that all advertising, promotional marketing, and direct marketing practices in Ireland are legal, decent, honest, and truthful. This is achieved through self-regulation, where the advertising industry adopts and enforces standards set out in the Code of Standards for Advertising and Marketing Communications in Ireland.
The ASA operates with the support and commitment of advertisers, agencies, media specialists, and other industry stakeholders. Members of the ASA are required to comply with the Code, guaranteeing responsible and ethical advertising practices. If you have a complaint about an advertisement or promotion, you can make a complaint to the ASA, which will be reviewed by their Complaints Committee.
