ASASE

ASASE (Swiss Association of Friends of Sister Emmanuelle) is a Geneva-based public utility association established in 1979. It has no political, religious, or commercial aims and benefits from tax-exempt status granted by the State of Geneva. With exceptionally low administrative costs, it reports allocating 95% of funds raised each year to projects on the ground. ASASE supports development programs in South Sudan, since 2007, and Haiti, since 1996, working through local partners and with support from public authorities, European sister associations, and international charities.

Its humanitarian programs span vocational training, education, healthcare, support for orphans and street children, infant feeding, emergency aid, and income-generating initiatives. In South Sudan, activities include training centers, a nursery and primary school, medical assistance, and projects such as farming, poultry, tailoring, and furniture-making. In Haiti, ASASE supports schools, a university, a clinic and rural dispensaries, as well as herbal medicine production and microcredit. The association invites donations, publishes program and visit reports, and shares news through a quarterly newsletter.
